Auto-Gruppen - Time Attack Supra

Auto-Gruppen, our official Swedish Dealer has produced some spectacular and extremely successful machinery over the years but this Supra is certainly one of our favourites.

For the last two seasons of Swedish Time Attack it has proved utterly untouchable winning every round of the 2018 season and claiming the Championship title again in 2019. Supplying a gearbox capable of dealing with a 2JZ which develops over 1100nm in a chassis with masses of mechanical grip is no small order. The strain on the drivetrain in such an application is astronomical so in our eyes there was only one option, the Quaife QBE69G 6-Speed Heavy Duty Sequential.

The gearbox performed faultlessly for the duration of both seasons but it was deemed sensible, given the extreme application, to return it to factory for inspection while the Supra was being rebuilt in the off season. Upon return the gearbox was opened and it was extremely impressive to find almost every component in 'as new' condition.

The longevity shown here is not only testament to Quaife's design and manufacturing quality but also to the calibration of the closed-loop flatshift on the Emtron Engine Management Electronics system and of course to the driver's ability.
